Home Study Webinar

During this home study webinar, you will learn about advances in medication safety and continuous quality improvement (CQI) in Canadian community pharmacies and how it compares to CQI regulations for community pharmacies in the United States. Presenters will also discuss how specific elements of a CQI program can improve patient safety.

How to Access the Webinar and Earn CPE
The complimentary webinar is eligible for Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit. More details regarding the presentations, CPE activity credits, and browser requirements can be found in the CPE Activity Information guide .
Follow the steps below to access the home study webinar and claim CPE credit:
- Complete the interest form for the desired home study.
- Check your email to get the access code for the requested home study.

Log in to
NABP’s CPE Submission Site
and select the “Home Study CPE” tab.
- If you do not have a log in for Learner Community, you will need to create an account.

Enter the access code provided in your email and click “Redeem Code.”
- Enter only one code at a time.
- View the recording, complete the activity in its entirety, including watching the full video, and pass the post-test. Once completed, the Credit section will unlock.
- Select the appropriate credit (pharmacy or pharmacy technician), enter your NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth, and click the “claim” button to earn credit.
Claims must be submitted within 60 days from the date you opened the activity.
Presenters
Dr Hincapie has published and presented at the national and international level qualitative and quantitative research on quality and safety of care and the use of health information technologies. Dr Hincapie has also published research using qualitative and quantitative stated preference methods to ascertain patients’ experiences with pharmacy services and medications. Dr Hincapie has held multiple leadership positions in professional organizations, including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and chair of the Education Committee for the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research Latin America Consortium.
Dr Neil MacKinnon is Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Augusta University (AU) in Augusta, GA. In that capacity, he serves as the chief academic officer of the university, overseeing its 10 colleges and schools, as well as diversity and inclusion, enrollment and student affairs, faculty affairs, institutional effectiveness and planning, instruction and innovation, the registrar’s office, and the research enterprise. He also serves on the board of AU Health. He is a professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences in the Medical College of Georgia.
Prior to his current position, Dr MacKinnon was dean of the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati. He was director of the State Office of Rural Health for Arizona and a professor at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. He was also professor and associate director for research at the College of Pharmacy at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada.
